So you want to come try it out? You see us playing around the city and it looks like so much fun right? Well guess what, it IS fun! There’s no question that playing synchronised beats with a group of like-minded people, and performing at gigs and parades and events is one heck of a blast. Samba Nova is open to all, experienced or not. All we ask is that you try to play according to your skill level. We supply the instruments and instruction.

We also welcome dancers! Yes we have our own dance section. Small but mighty, they’re always looking for new dancers to learn the choreography and steps to make the samba band complete. Send an email to get details!
Here’s how you can come listen and check out a practice, or even have your first samba batucada workshop (the first week is free and it’s just $5 a week after that – the best deal in the city!)

Arrive by 6:15 pm at the latest to get set up
The entrance is just to the left of the white sign in the photo below. See the two stone pillars on either side of the gate? Come through there and down the hill to the door.
